System design and installation

What is your free system design service?

Tell us about your venue, ideally with a floor plan or photos, and we will recommend the speakers, amplifier and accessories you need, with layout guidance, free of charge and with no obligation.

Do you install systems?

Yes. Tell us where your venue is and we will quote for installation alongside the equipment.

What warranty do you offer?

Our complete systems are backed by a 3-year warranty. If you have a question about the warranty on a specific product, please contact us.

Ceiling speakers

Should I choose 100V or 8 ohm ceiling speakers?

Use 100V for larger systems, long cable runs or more than a handful of speakers, as you can tap each speaker to a different volume. 8 ohm suits small rooms with a few speakers on a low impedance amplifier.

How many ceiling speakers do I need?

It depends on ceiling height, room shape and how loud you want the music. Send us your floor plan and we will design the layout for free.

Can you install them?

Yes. Tell us where the venue is and we will quote for installation alongside the equipment.

What comes in a ceiling speaker system?

Ceiling speakers, an amplifier and the speaker cable needed to connect them, all matched to work together.

Can I have different music in different areas?

Yes. Choose a multi-zone system, or ask us to design one around your layout.

Will it be difficult to install?

The systems are designed for straightforward installation by an electrician or installer, and we can quote to install it for you.

Wall speakers

Are wall speakers better than ceiling speakers?

Neither is better; it depends on the room. Wall speakers suit exposed, high or solid ceilings and are easy to aim, while ceiling speakers give the most even and discreet coverage.

Can I use wall speakers outdoors?

Only models rated for outdoor use. Look for the weatherproof options in our outdoor speakers range, or ask us to recommend one.

Do you offer free system design?

Yes. Send us a plan or photos of the space and we will recommend the speakers and amplifier you need.

How many wall speakers will I need?

As a rough guide, small rooms need two to four. For a precise answer, send us your plan for a free system design.

Can I connect a microphone?

Many of our systems use a mixer amplifier with a microphone input; check the product page or ask us.

Do the speakers come with brackets?

Most wall speakers include an adjustable bracket. Each product page lists what is in the box.

Pendant speakers

When should I use pendant speakers?

When the ceiling is too high or open for ceiling speakers to sound clear at floor level, or where there is no ceiling void to mount into.

How far should pendant speakers hang?

It depends on the ceiling height and the area each one needs to cover. We will work this out as part of our free system design.

Are they 100V?

Most of our pendant speakers are 100V line with selectable power taps, and some are also available in low impedance versions.

Is a pendant system right for my venue?

If your ceiling is high, open or has no void, pendants are usually the best option. Send us photos and we will advise.

Can pendant systems include paging?

Yes, with a mixer amplifier and microphone. We can specify this for you.

What colours are available?

Most pendant systems come in black or white.

Column speakers

Why choose column speakers for a place of worship?

Their focused coverage reduces echo from walls and high ceilings, so speech is easier to understand at the back of the room.

Can column speakers play music too?

Yes. They are designed mainly for speech but handle background music well.

Can you design a church or mosque sound system?

Yes. We design speech and music systems for places of worship free of charge, including microphones, amplifiers and speakers.

Is this suitable for a place of worship?

Yes. Column speakers are a common choice for places of worship because they keep speech clear in echoey spaces.

Can I add wireless microphones?

Yes. Many systems use an amplifier with microphone inputs, and we stock compatible wireless systems.

Do you design systems for halls?

Yes. Send us the dimensions and use of the hall for a free system design.

Horn and PA speakers

Are horn speakers good for music?

They are best for speech and announcements. For music in noisy areas they work, but for background music in quieter spaces use wall or pendant speakers.

Can horn speakers be used outdoors?

Yes. Our horn speakers are weatherproof and suitable for outdoor installation.

What amplifier do I need?

A 100V line PA or mixer amplifier with enough power for the total of all speaker taps. We can size this for you free of charge.

Can I make announcements with this system?

Yes. Add a paging microphone, or choose a system with a microphone input included.

Will it work outdoors?

Yes. The horn speakers are weatherproof, though the amplifier must be installed indoors.

Can it cover a large warehouse?

Yes. We size the number of speakers and amplifier power to the site as part of our free system design.

Outdoor speakers

Do outdoor speakers need to be 100V?

Not always, but 100V line makes long cable runs and many speakers much simpler, which is common outdoors.

Can I add outdoor speakers to my existing system?

Usually yes, if your amplifier has spare power and a free zone. Tell us what you have and we will check.

How do I keep the volume under control for neighbours?

We design layouts with more speakers at lower volume, aimed away from boundaries, and can add zone volume controls.

Can I run outdoor speakers from my indoor amplifier?

Often yes, if it has spare power and a zone available. Tell us your model and we will check.

Are the speakers weatherproof?

Yes. All speakers in these systems are rated for outdoor use.

Can I control the outdoor volume separately?

Yes, with a multi-zone amplifier or a volume control for the outdoor zone.

Complete systems, kits and PA

What is in a sound kit?

Speakers, a compatible amplifier and the cable to connect them.

Can I install a sound kit myself?

They are designed for straightforward installation, but ceiling speakers usually need a competent installer. We can quote to install.

Is a sound kit big enough for my venue?

Kits suit small to medium rooms. For larger spaces, ask for a free system design.

What is the difference between PA and background music systems?

A PA system is built around clear announcements and paging, usually with a microphone, while a background music system focuses on music. Many of our systems do both.

Can I page different zones?

Yes. Choose a multi-zone system with a zone-select paging microphone.

Can a PA system be expanded later?

Yes. 100V line systems make it easy to add speakers, provided the amplifier has enough power.

How do I choose the right system?

Start with the speaker type that suits your ceiling and space, then the number of speakers. If in doubt, ask for a free system design.

Are all components compatible?

Yes. Each system's speakers, amplifier and cable are matched to work together.

Do you offer installation?

Yes. We can quote for installation anywhere in the UK.
